Kenora OPP were dispatched more than 1,400 times in January

Members of the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police responded to 168 calls from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1.

Of the calls, police responded to over the weekend they laid nine charges, according to a police news release.

Some of the calls police responded to included two alarms, four attempts or threats of suicide, two dangerous conditions, six thefts, 17 liquor licence acts, four suspicious persons, eight domestic disputes, six police assistance, four mischief, three mental health acts, seven motor vehicle collisions, 10 R.I.D.E checks, seven traffic complaints, 16 unwanted persons and two weapons calls.

For the month of January alone, Kenora police were dispatched to 1,427 calls.
